TIGER WOODS‘ season is over – ruling him out of the USPGA Championship.
That means the former long-reigning World No1 will miss four Majors in a row as he recovers from three back surgeries since 2014.
Woods’ last PGA event was in August 2015 when he tied for 10th place at the Wyndham Championship.
And now he might not play until 2017.
Woods’ agent Mark Steinberg emailed GolfChannel.com to reveal the USA star will miss the rest of 2015-16.
Harold Varner III will replace him at the PGA Championship.
Steinberg confirmed that Woods will continue his rehab before assessing when to return.
But before pulling out of last week’s Open at Royal Troon Woods had never missed three straight Majors.
The PGA Championship is at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey, from July 28-31.
And the season ends with the TOUR Championship on Sptember 22-25, the week before the Ryder Cup.
But a classic finale to the Open, where Henrik Stenson pipped Phil Mickelson to victory, underlines the way Woods is already slipping out of the spotlight.
So the latest blow in his battle to become a world force again is more of a personal pain than a golf-wide sadness.
